Medical Chigong is Chinese medicine's form of energy healing where a doctor channels "chi" to the patient.  This can be performed either with light contact or with hands just off the body.  Using the chi in this way, the internal organs can be regulated, acupuncture points and meridians stimulated, the shen (spirit) calmed, and the fascia connective tissue system can be accessed and unwound.

Where as acupuncture technically only regulates chi, Medical Chigong can actually add and tonify a patient's chi.  Another way to think about chi is in terms of electricity, function, and communication.  All of our cells and various body parts communicate to each other in part via electricity.

Due to various circumstances, the voltage needed to maintain homeostasis may get out of balance, communication gets cut off or interupted, and the body's function becomes compromised as a result.  Medical Chigong can re-stablish that communication and in turn restore proper functioning in the body.

Additionally, Medical Chigong can be used in conjunction with acupuncture or in lieu of needles on individuals for which acupuncture may not be suitable.
